Are you a jerk?
Remarkably, there was no sign of dog poo along the pathway between the Pavilion Cafe & Bar and the Warrnambool Surf Life Saving Club yesterday. Could this sign be working??? It looks to us like some vigilante got sick of seeing all the dog poop and dog poop bags along this path and created their own sign. What a legend! #northernbeachescleanupcrew #beachcleanup How many have actually found dumped reusable cups? We've found one on all our clean ups in total. Single-use cups are not valued hence they are often littered. Have you made the change to a reusable cup yet?
#northernbeachescleanupcrew #coffee Let's all make sure we bring our reusable cup next time or take time to have a natural pause in life and sit down at the coffee shop and enjoy the service and view.
Some of our lovely crew members behave like animals and we love them for it 😊
#northernbeachescleanupcrew #litter #trash This highlights why single use coffee cups needs be banned. Even when supplied with the best possible chance of recycling what we can from disposable coffee cups, people are just too lazy to care. If we all switched to reusable coffee cups, we would divert 500 billion takeaway coffee cups from landfill every year.
Who can relate? 😅
When you get served that nonconsensual plastic, don't blame your server, habits are hard to break. And not everyone is as aware or as educated as you may be on the dangers of single-use plastics. Change is not born out of confrontation, but of compassion. So if the place isn’t busy, you should strike up a conversation and ask your server, “Have you considered serving straws only upon request?” You could even ask if the manager is available for a few minutes to discuss a Straws-On-Request policy. Take the time that you have, in-person, to spread awareness and teach a thing or two. Afterwards, send a message over social or email to continue to the dialogue. So Suckers, be the change that you want to see in this world! And let us know, have you gotten into any constructive conversations around single-use plastics lately? If birds could do it, they probably would. We have heard that crows are trained to pick up cigarette butts so maybe one day this will happen too. After all, humans are the only species who destroy their own habitats.
Sharks don't lurk in the oceans but they do lurk watching you buying groceries - Do you buy plasticfree or not?
